🌿 Plain-English summary: We collect only what we need to run PasturePal — your email address to create an account, your farm data to sync it across devices, and your payment info is handled entirely by Stripe (we never see your card number). We don't sell your data or run ads.
PasturePal is a homestead management application operated by Mini Acres LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), a limited liability company. When this policy says "PasturePal," it means Mini Acres LLC and the PasturePal service.

When you create an account, we collect your email address and password (stored securely via Supabase Auth — passwords are hashed and never readable by us).
To sync your data across devices, we store the information you enter in the app in our database. This includes:
This data is associated with your account and stored on Supabase-hosted infrastructure. If you use PasturePal without creating an account, all data stays only on your device in your browser's local storage and is never sent to our servers.
If you enter a zip code for garden planning or weather alerts, that zip code is sent to free third-party APIs (Nominatim and Open-Meteo) to retrieve your USDA zone and local weather forecast. We do not store precise location data and these services do not require an account.
When you use PasturePal's AI features (symptom checker, garden advisor, AI assistant), your messages and relevant farm context are sent to the Anthropic API to generate responses. These prompts are subject to Anthropic's data handling practices. We do not use your AI conversations to train models.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your credit card number, CVV, or full billing details. We retain only a Stripe session identifier to manage your subscription status.
We do not currently run third-party analytics. Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) may be retained by our hosting providers (GitHub Pages, Vercel) for security and operational purposes.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.
PasturePal relies on the following third-party services to function. Each has its own privacy policy.
Supabase
Authentication and cloud database. Stores your account and farm data.
Stripe
Payment processing and subscription management for Pro plans.
Anthropic
Powers AI features (symptom checker, garden advisor, homestead assistant).
Open-Meteo
Free weather API. Receives your zip-derived coordinates to fetch forecasts.
Nominatim / OpenStreetMap
Converts your zip code to coordinates for weather lookup. No account required.
Google Fonts
Loads the fonts used in the app interface.
We retain your account and farm data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or request deletion, we will remove your data from our systems within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance purposes (e.g., Stripe transaction records).
Data stored only in your browser's local storage (no-account mode) is never sent to us and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. If you are located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you have rights under the GDPR including the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, and object to processing of your personal data. Our lawful basis for processing is contract performance (to deliver the service you signed up for) and legitimate interests (operating and improving the service). PasturePal is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption in transit, Supabase Row Level Security (only you can access your own data), and hashed password storage. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
PasturePal uses browser local storage (not cookies) to save your app data and preferences on your device. This is essential for the app to function offline. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you by email or a notice in the app. Your continued use of PasturePal after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
